2 face drug charges after 575 bags of heroin seized

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (9/17/2015) Two men were arrested after detectives seized 575 bags of heroin from a home west of New Castle, authorities said

Markief Baynard, 25, and Cornelius Woodruff, 19,  were arrested at their home in the first block of Wildfire Lane west of New Castle.

Police also seized 12.2 grams of crack cocaine and $700 in suspected drug proceeds and two guns from the home and a car, Officer First Class Tracey Duffy said.

Baynard was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, conspiracy in the second degree, (2 counts) possession of a controlled substance in Tier II quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier V quantity and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier IV. He was being held at Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $89,000 cash bail.

Woodruff was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, conspiracy in the second degree, (2 counts) possession of a controlled substance in Tier II quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier V quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier IV, possession of a weapon with a removed or obliterated serial number, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited.

He was being held at Young Correctional in lieu $132,000 cash bail.
