GREENWOOD, DELAWARE (8/31/2015) Two men have been charged in connection with fiveĀ burglaries in the Greenwood area, Delaware State Police said today.
Jason C. Root, 30, of Greenwood, and Kasey A. Dolly, 27, of Harrington, were arrested after a neighbor of one of the victims recognized a red Chevrolet Impala fleeing the scene of a home burglary in the 13000 block of Adamsville Road.
The burglars broke a glass window adjacent to the front door to unlock it and enter the home. Inside, they removed cash from a cup on a kitchen counter and then fled, police said.
Detectives linked Root and Dolly to this break-in and four others that happened in daylight when no one was home. Police said the pair mostly would remove televisions and cash, and the TVs would be taken to local pawn shops or traded for illegal drugs.
Troopers have arrested two men in connection with numerous burglaries in the Greenwood area.
Dolly and Root were arrested Friday and each charged with five counts of second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, six counts of theft under $1,500, five counts of second-degree conspiracy and three counts of criminal mischief.
Both were being held at Sussex Correctional Institution. Bond was set atĀ $49,300 for Dolly and $37,800 for Root.
