NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (8/23/2015) The America’s 9/11 Ride came through Delaware on Saturday, remembering those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Event organizers said the motorcycle ride is held in August out of respect for each site and the survivors, allowing them to mourn during September.
Hundreds of riders departed Friday from the Flight 93 National Memorial near Somerset, Pennsylvania, traveled to The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, and on Saturday passed through Delaware on Interstate 95 and crossed the Delaware Memorial Bridge to New Jersey, heading to New York City.
The ride planned a procession to the 9/11 Memorial at the World Trade Center site this morning.
The ride is sponsored by America’s 911 Foundation Inc., which is dedicated to supporting first responders nationwide.
