Milford police: Woman struck another with 12-inch fan

MILFORD, DELAWARE (7/21/2015) A 60-year-old woman was arrested after a domestic disturbance at the Brightway Commons apartment complex, Milford police reported today.

Rosa L. Deshields, also known as Rosa L. Person, was in a verbal dispute with a 23-year-old woman when she punched the woman in the head several times, Detective Dwight Young said.

Witnesses tried to separate the two, Young said, but Deshields grabbed a 12-inch oscillating desk fan and began hitting the 23-year-old with it.

After the 23-year-old was able to flee into another room, Young said, Deshields threatened to kill her.

He said a year-old child was present in the apartment during the July 7 incident but was not injured.

The 23-year-old suffered minor injuries to her arms and legs but declined medical treatment.

Deshields was charged with aggravated menaching, assault, terroristic threatening, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief.

She was released on  released on $17,550 unsecured bond.
