REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE (7/6/2015) Delaware State Police say two men were assaulted in a robbery and attempted robbery on Robinson Drive south of Rehoboth Beach.
One incident happened about 2:10 a.m. Saturday just east of Coastal Highway (Route 1).
A 21-year-old Seaford man was walking when he was knocked to the ground by two black males, police said. They removed a wallet and cellphone from his pockets and fled.
One robber had thin build and was wearing a dark baseball cap and dark tank top. The second was wearing a dark shirt.
The victim was taken to Beebe Healthcare’s hospital in Lewes for treatment of injuries police said were not life-threatening.
As troopers were responding to this incident, they learned of an attempted robbery on Robinson Drive at Silver Lake in which a 33-year-old Clarksville, Maryland, man was assaulted by two males with similar descriptions to the other incident. They fled without getting any property from the victim, police said.
The Maryland man also was taken by ambulance to Beebe with injuries not considered life-threatening.
