UPDATED STORY: Former assistant principal cleared of sex charges
MILTON, DELAWARE (6/26/2015) The assistant principal at Banneker Elementary School in Milford has been charged with having unlawful sexual contact with young girls in his home, Delaware State Police said today.
Edward Scot Husbands, 45, of Milton, was charged with two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a person under 13, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a person less than 13, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
He was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution near Georgetown in lieu of $108,000 cash bond.
Police said they began an investigation Tuesday after the family of a 10-year-old girl reported she was touched inappropriately by a friend’s father.
Husbands inappropriately touched the girl as well as another 10-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl while they were spending the night at his home in Milton on separate occasions dating back to December, police said.
Husbands is a former assistant principal at Milford High School, according to the district website.
