DELAWARE (6/25/2015) More than 1,700 Delmarva Power customers remained without electric power this morning in the wake of storms earlier this week, the company reports on its website.
At the peak of the severe thunderstorms that battered the region Tuesday night, the company had more than 68,000 customers in Delaware and nearby Maryland who lost power.
More than 1,100 Delmarva customers in Cecil County, Maryland, remained without power this morning.
Delmarva estimates some of the Delaware customers may not have service restored until late Friday afternoon.
The storm also caused outages for cellphone providers, but those were resolved Wednesday afternoon.
While there were reports of funnel clouds across the region during Tuesday’s storms, the National Weather Service says it has only found evidence of straight-line wind damage, not any tornadoes.
