CAMDEN, DELAWARE (6/18/2015) Two 19-year-old men were arrested on drug charges after a month-long investigation, Delaware State Police reported today.
The arrests about 1:40 p.m. Monday came after investigators learned Jaleel D. Wayman and Rober Knox would be in the parking of the Camden Walmart store to conduct a drug transaction, police said.
Wayman, of the 100 block of Dorman St. in Harrington, fled on foot but was captured without incident.
Knox sped away in a vehicle at high speed, struck another vehicle and disregarded stop signs on Thomas Harmon Drive but then was taken into custody, police said.
Wayman had more than 17 grams of MDMA, 1.5 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession, police said, and more than $2,000 cash that was found in the vehicle.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance in tier 5 quantity, delivery in tier 4 quantity, drug dealing, conspiracy, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wayman was being held at Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $86,000 secured bond. He also was in violation of probation, police said.
Knox, of the first block of S. Governors Ave. in Dover, was charged with reckless endangering, felony resisting arrest, criminal mischief, disregarding a police signal, conspiracy, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle at unreasonable speeds and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was held at Vaughn in lieu of $25,600 cash bond.
