Man arrested on drug charges at Battery Park

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (6/18/2015) City police arrested a Wilmington man on drug possession charges after seasonal officers patrolling on bicycles detected an odor of marijuana coming from a car, authorities said today.

The arrest happened about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the Battery Park parking lot on South Street, Senior Lt. Adam Brams said.

He said officers found 13 baggies of heroin, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana in the car.

Raheem B. Newman, 25, of the 900 block of Clifford Brown Walk, was charged with possession of heroin, marijuana and drug parphernalia. He was released on unsecured bond.
