Dover police: Man arrested with 195 bags of heroin

DOVER, DELAWARE (6/11/2015) A 19-year-old man was arrested with 195 bags of heroin, Dover police said today.

Shykeem Johnson, of the 400 block of Lambert Drive in the Woodside East area, fled from officers during a drug investigation at the Hardees restaurant at 519 Bay Road about noon Tuesday but was captured a short time later, Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Hoffman said Johnson discarded some of the heroin during the foot pursuit.

Johnson was charged with possession of heroin in Tier 2 quantity (2.925 grams), possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and violation of probation.

He was being held at Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in lieu of $32,500 secured bond.

Delaware Probation and Parole officers assisted in the investigation.
