BELLEVUE, DELAWARE (6/10/2015) A man who fled from a prison work crew on Tuesday was captured early today after assaulting officers, New Castle County police said.

Isaiah Thompson, 25, who had been serving a term for attempted carjacking, fled from the area of Gov. Printz Boulevard and Cauffiel Parkway on Tuesday morning.

About 3:45 a.m. today, Thompson was captured by county and Delaware State Police after being alerted by a security guard at First Data Corp. in the 1100 block of Carr Road – less than a mile from where he left the work crew.

On surveillance video, the guard had seen someone crawl through a broken door.

As police were beginning a K-9 search of the building, Thompson encountered officers at the entrance and was taken into custody after assaulting them, Officer First Class Tracey Duffy said.

Thompson was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and offensive touching of an officer.
