3 arrested on drug, gun charges near Laurel

LAUREL, DELAWARE (6/7/2015) Three men were arrested on gun and drug charges after they pulled over on U.S. 13 north of Laurel because the driver was vomiting, Delaware State Police said today.

The incident happened about 2:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Camp Road.

A trooper investigated when the vehicle with its lights on was spotted on the shoulder, police said, and detected the odor of alcohol.

The driver, Breyon J. Baine, 26, of Seaford, was detained and later charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, conspiracy, possession of marijuan, reckless driving and no proof of insurance.

Police said a loaded .22 caliber handgun was found in the center console of the car and 56 grams of marijuana was found in the golve compartment as well as a bulletproof vest, a mask and $750 in suspected drug proceeds.

Baine was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution near Georgetown in lieu of $22,000 secured bail.

The two passengers, Tyshaun Williams, 25, of Bridgeville, and Enoch Williams, 23, of Seaford, each were charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, conspiracy and possession of marijuana. They also were being held at Sussex Correctional in lieu of $8,200 secured bail for Tyshaun and $8,100 secured bail for Enoch.
