Explosive set off at Iron Hill Park

NEWARK, DELAWARE (5/29/2015) An explosive device was detonated at Iron Hill Park near Newark this morning, authorities said.

Two males in a new dark gray Honda Accord entered the park at 1337 Old Baltimore Pike just after 10 a.m. and intentionally caused the explosion, said Michael Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.

Chionchio said there were no injuries and no damage to structures.

Deputy fire marshals are investigating the crime.

He asked anyone with information to contact the state Fire Marshal’s Office at 302-323-5375.
