WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (5/24/2015) A 22-year-old man was being treated at Christiana Hospital after being shot in the left knee, Wilmington police reported this morning.
The victim arrived by private vehicle at the hospital in Stanton about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said they were told the shooting happened in the area between Eighth and North Spruce streets and Taylor Street.
The victim said he got out of his vehicle and began walking toward a store when an unknown black male approached and demanded his money. At some point during the encounter the man fired a gun, hitting the victim’s knee, police said.
Police said they did not receive any calls about shots fired in the area and there were no alerts from the city’s gunshot detection system.
