NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (5/22/2015) The Churchmans Road boat ramp on the Christina River has been reopened.
The reopening in time for the Memorial Day weekend was announced Thursday by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
The ramp had been closed for a year while it was evaluated for public use.
David Saveikis, director of the division of fish and wildlife, said DNREC has entered a partnership with the property owner, Artesian Water Company, to operate the ramp for public access.
“We are pleased that the Churchmans Road boat ramp once again will be providing anglers and other recreationalists with access to the upper reaches of the Christina River,” Saveikis said.
