Gwinhurst thefts captured on surveillance video

BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (5/18/2015) Residents of the Gwinhurst community reported thefts from six unlocked vehicles, New Castle County police said today.

The thefts happened in the early morning hours Sunday on Garfield, Harrison and Smyrna avenues.

Surveillance video from area residents showed two white females going from vehicle to vehicle checking to see if they were locked, and removing items from those that were open. Police have not released the video.

Officer Tom Jackson said the pair fled with several valuable items.

He said one was about 5-feet-10, skinny, with long dark hair and wearing professional business attire and holding a large handbag.

The other was 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-8, heavier than the other, with blonde hair and wearing a light-colored shirt. She also carried a handbag.

Jackson asked anyone with information on this or other suspicious activity to cal 911 or 302-573-2800.
