Newark man charged in Royal Farms robbery near Cheswold

CHESWOLD, DELAWARE (5/14/2015) A Newark man was charged with robbing a Royal Farms convenience store after he returned to the scene of the crime, Delaware State Police said today.

The robbery happened about 11:50 p.m. April 27 on U.S. 13 at Fast Landing Road.

About 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, police said, a store employee recognized a man sitting outside in a parked car as the possible suspect in the robbery.

Troopers took Craig M. Roundtree, 47, into custody and later charged him with robbery, wearing a disguise during commission of a felony and conspiracy.

He was being held at Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in lieu of $68,000 cash bond.

Police are still trying to learn the identity of the getaway car’s driver.
