Exxon robbed at gunpoint in Newark

NEWARK, DELAWARE (5/12/2015) An Exxon gas station was robbed at gunpoint by a masked man, Newark police reported today.

The incident happened about 3 a.m. Monday at 820 S. College Ave.

A man with a black handgun stole cigarettes, the clerk’s wallet and cash from the register in the convenience store, Cpl. James Spadola said.

The robber fled on foot and was last seen on Plymouth Drive.

He was described as white, about 30 years old, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-7 and with average build.
