24-year-old woman dies after Wilmington shooting

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (4/29/2015) One of two women shot in the 600 block of W. Sixth St. on Tuesday has died, Wilmington police reported this morning.

Police said 24-year-old Artise Brown of Wilmington died at Christiana Hospital. She had been shot in her lower back.

Brown and a 19-year-old woman were shot about 8:15 p.m., with a large crowd gathering after the incident.

The 19-year-old is in stable condition at the hospital, police said, with a wound to her upper left leg.

Officers were on the scene late this morning collecting additional evidence, including shell casings.

Police said they had no suspects and asked anyone with information to call Detective B. Conkey at 302-576-3660.
