UPDATED STORY: Police release name of 37-year-old woman
NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (4/27/2015) The death of a female found along Route 9 south of New Castle has been ruled a homicide, Delaware State Police reported this morning.
The body was discovered about 5:30 a.m. Sunday lying along the side of Route 9 (River Road) south of Hamburg Road.
Police said the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
New Castle County paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
An autopsy was performed by the Division of Forensic Science and the death was ruled a homicide, but the manner of death has yet to be determined, police said.
Police did not release other details on the victim or her death, saying the investigation was in its early stages.
