WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (4/26/2015) A 37-year-old man was shot early today while trying to flee two people in the Hedgeville area, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 12:25 a.m. in the 400 block of Maryland Ave.
“Two unknown suspects wearing all dark clothing approached the victim in his vehicle. The victim was shot as he attempted to drive away,” police said in a news release.
Police said they had a Spot Shotter alert at the time from South Van Buren and Beech streets but found no evidence of a shooting there.
The victm was taken by private vehicle to St. Francis hospital and police were then notified. He was later transferred to Christiana Hospital for treatment of wounds to his left arm and abdominal areas. Police said he was in stable condition.
