FREDERICA, DELAWARE (4/18/2015) A 20-year-old Harrington man has been charged in the stabbing of a Milford man at a home near Frederica, Delaware State Police said today.

The stabbing happened about 6:15 p.m. Friday in the 4500 block of Andrews Lake Road.

The Harrington man, later identified as Dennis Young, confronted the 34-year-old Milford man and they began arguing in the driveway of the home, police said, and Young stabbed the man in the abdomen and fled on foot.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Milford Memorial Hospital and treated for his injury.

Troopers, using a K-9 and state police helicopter, searched the area but were unable to locate Young until 11 p.m., when he was seen walking in the 3600 block of Bay Road (Route 1) south of Frederica. He was arrested without incident and charged with assault and possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony.

Young also had an active warrant for failing to re-register as a sex offender, police said.

He was being held at Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in lieu of $7,500 secured bond.
