GLASGOW, DELAWARE (4/18/2015) A 22-year-old Glasgow man was charged with burglarizing an occupied home in the Frenchtown Woods neighborhood, New Castle County police said Friday.

The burglary happened about 9:15 p.m. Thursday in the first block of Versailles Court.

“The 34-year-old victim reported hearing a loud noise and then footsteps inside his home. He then reported hearing the rattle of his bedroom doorknob and then a suspect at the door. The suspect yelled an expletive and fled the home on foot,” Officer First Class Tracey Duffy said.

She said investigating officers noticed a light from a flashlight coming from the 100 block of Versailles Court and then arrested Isaiah Cooper, who they said matched the victim’s description of the intruder.

Cooper, of the first block of Avignon Drive, also was charged with criminal mischief under $1,000 and attempted theft under $1,500. He was being held at Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington in lieu of $10,600 secured bail.
