Wilmington woman charged with 5th DUI

NEWARK, DELAWARE (4/4/2015) A Wilmington woman was arrested east of Newark on Friday and charged with her fifth offense DUI, state police said today.

About 1:05 p.m., a trooper saw a northbound Ford Focus immediately in front of him on Harmony Road go through a red light at Green Ridge Road and pulled the car over, police said.

The trooper detected an odor of alcohol from the driver, Ann M. Baker, 54,  the only occupant of the car.

In addition to the driving under the influence of alcohol count, she was charged with driving while suspended or revoked, failure to have insurance in possession, expired tags and failure to stop at a red light. She was released after posting $10,000 secured bond.

Police said her previous DUI convictions were in 1987, 2002, 2004 and 2012.
