Carjacking victim treated at hospital

DSP logoBRANDYWINE HUNDRED, DELAWARE (3/26/2015) A 19-year-old Claymont man was taken to a hospital after two men assaulted him during a carjacking in the parking lot of the Regal Cinema, state police said today.

The incident happened about 12:10 a.m. at the movie theater at 3300 Brandywine Parkway, near Naamans Road and Concord Pike.

The victim was getting into his car when another vehicle pulled behind his, blocking his exit.

Two men, one armed with a handgun, ordered him out of his car and to turn over property from his pockets, then began to assault him. One then drove off in the victim’s 2003 gold Chrysler Town and Country and the other left in their vehicle.

The carjackers were described as 20-25 years old and 5-feet-10 to 6 feet tall with average builds.

Police said the victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
