Jewelry store robbed near Wilmington

DSP logoWILMINGTON, DELAWARE (3/12/2015) A jewelry store was robbed at gunpoint near Wilmington on Wednesday, state police said.

The robbery happened about 12:15 p.m. at East Coast Jewelry Exchange, 2800 Lancaster Pike, Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said.

The two robbers, both male and armed with handguns, confronted two men and a woman inside and demanded cash and personal items as well as money and jewelry from the store’s safe. The three complied and the robbers fled.

No one was injured.

One robber was described as Hispanic, 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-8 and 175-185 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap.

The second black, 5-feet-11 to 6 feet and 155-175 pounds. He was wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and a red baseball cap.
