Dover officer injured in drug bust at Red Roof Inn

DOVER, DELAWARE (3/10/2015) A Dover police officer was injured Monday during the arrest of two people on drug charges at the Red Roof Inn on U.S. 13, authorities said.

The arrests came about 12:20 p.m. at the motel at 652 N. DuPont Highway.

Gabriella Rivera, 22, of Dover, was arrested inside a hotel room where two children were present, police said.

Karl Ingram, 29, of Dover, fled on foot but was arrested a short time later after putting up a struggle and causing a minor injury to an officer.

A search of the room found 94.4 grams of cocaine and 5.4 grams of marijuana and $3,258, police said.

Ingram was charged with possession of tier 5 quantity cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, possession of controlled substance (prescription pills), offensive touching on law enforcement officer and violation of probation. He was being held at Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in lieu of $34,000 cash bail.

Rivera was charged with possession of tier 5 quantity cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. She was released on $24,000 unsecured bond.
