EDGEMOOR, DELAWARE (3/7/2015) A fire that swept through a building at the Woods Edge Apartments early today was ruled arson.
The Brandywine Hundred Fire Company found flames engulfing the vacant building when volunteers arrived in the 1200 block of Terra Hill Drive, off Rysing Drive, shortly after 1 a.m.
State fire investigators determined that a person or persons deliberately ignited materials inside the building, causing heavy fire damage to the structure, said Michael Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.
Deputy fire marshals have started a criminal investigation and are searching for those responsible, he said.
Damage was estimated at $250,000. There were no injuries.
