DOVER, DELAWARE (3/5/2015) Opening day of this year’s downstate trout season has been put off a week.
The reason? Ice is covering the ponds and preventing the stocking of fish and fishing, state officials said.
The opening day has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 14, with fishing to start at 7 a.m.
Fish will be stocked at two locations: Tidbury Pond south of Dover and Newton Pond near Greenwood.
Anglers are required to have a Delaware fishing license and trout stamp.
