Man assaulted by 4 after leaving Wawa in Stanton

STANTON, DELAWARE (2/28/2015)  A 61-year-old man was assaulted and knocked to the ground as he walked along Limestone Road south of Kirkwood Highway after leaving a Wawa convenience store, state police said Friday.

The four Hispanic males who attacked the man about 4:15 a.m. Thursday had demanded money but fled without any.

The victim went to his home and called 911. He was then taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital for treatment of injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said the attackers all had short hair and were wearing dark clothing.
