Student robbed at knifepoint on Casho Mill Road in Newark

NEWARK, DELAWARE (2/23/2015)  A man with a knife robbed a student walking on Casho Mill Road, Newark police reported today.

The incident happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of the CSX railroad underpass.

The male victim, a student at the University of Delaware English Language Institute, was walking alone, police said, when the man with the knife approached and demanded money.

The victim fled on foot after the robber grabbed the ear buds from around his neck.

As he ran off, the victim saw a second man nearby.

The student ran to the Newark police station on South Main Street to report the incident. He was not injured, Lt. William Hargrove said.

The man with the knife was described as black, 18-21 years of age, short, thin build and was wearing gloves, light blue pajama pants, a light blue hoodie and a cloth around his face.

The other suspect was described as black, 19-22 years old, 6 feet tall, heavy build and with facial hair. He was wearing a beige hoodie with red stripes.
