Red Roof Inn, guests robbed at gunpoint

STANTON, DELAWARE (2/12/2015) A hotel and two of its guests were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, state police said this morning.

The robbery happened about 11:45 p.m. at the Red Roof Inn, 415 Stanton-Christiana Road.

Two men, one with a handgun, confronted a 35-year-old employee and two guests — a 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman — and demanded cash and other property.

The victims all complied and the robbers then fled. No one was injured, Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said.

One robber was described as about 5-feet-6 and 140-160 pounds, wearing a black jacket, black pants and brown shoes. He was wearing a mask.

The other, carrying the gun, was 20-30 years old, about 5-feet-8 and 160-180 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket, red pants and black-and-white shoes.
