3 arrested in Wilmington armed robbery try

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (2/3/2015) Three people have been arrested in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a 23-year-old woman last month, city police reported today.

The crime happened about 10 p.m. Jan. 23 in the 1800 block of N. Lincoln St.

Two boys forcefully attempted to remove the woman’s property at gunpoint.

A witness chased them for blocks but they got in a waiting vehicle and fled.

Detective Robert Fox was able to locate three suspects thanks to witness cooperation, police said.

All three are charged with robbery and conspiracy:

  • Tayra Knight, 18, posted $11,000 secured bail.
  • One boy also was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and aggravated menacing. He was being held at the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $70,000 cash bail.
  • The other boy was being held at the detention center in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
