2 charged in WSFS Bank robbery

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (1/30/2015) A 26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have been charged in connection with the robbery of a WSFS Bank branch, city police said today.

The robbery happened about 2:40 p.m. Thursday at 211 N. Union St.

Two masked robbers fled, but officers soon arrested two suspects, money taken from the bank and a 9 mm Ruger handgun that had been reported stolen outside of the city.

Cordele Stewart, of Newark, and the teenager were charged with robbery, conspiracy and related counts.

Stewart was being held at Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $68,000 cash bail.

The teen was being held at the New Castle County Detention Center in lieu of $47,000 secured bail.
