NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (1/26/2015) A 45-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle today while she was walking across U.S. 13 at the Hares Corner intersection, authorities said.
The accident at Route 273 (Christiana Road) happened about 2:30 p.m.
The woman was knocked to the Abigail E. Haas, spokeswoman for New Castle County paramedics.
She said paramedics treated the victim at the scene for injuries to her face and lower extremeties before being taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
The woman’s condition was serious but stable, Haas said.
State police are investigating the accident.
