GEORGETOWN, DELAWARE (1/9/2015) A 34-year-old woman was charged with her sixth DUI, state police said today.
The arrest of Ginger L. Velasquez, of Georgetown, came about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
A trooper parked in the lot of the Delaware State Police Federal Credit Union noticed a red Chevrolet Trailblazer stopped facing north on Donovans Road north of North Bedford Street.
The SUVÂ accelerated rapidly causing the tires to spin, police said, before the trooper stopped the vehicle a short distance away in a driveway.
After an odor of alcohol was detected, police said, Velasquez was taken into custody.
She also was charged with driving while suspended or revoked and for spinning tires.
Velasquez was being held at Baylor Women’s Correctional Center in lieu of $5,600 cash bond.
