Gunman sought after man critically wounded outside restaurant near Dover

DOVER, DELAWARE (1/8/2015) A 44-year-old man was shot in a restaurant parking lot along U.S. 13 north of Dover this afternoon, then drove himself to a nearby Redner’s supermarket gas station, where a 911 call was made, state police said.

The shooting is believed to have happened about 12:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the China Kitchen restaurant, in the North Dover Plaza shopping center at 4200 N. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13), across the streetĀ from the Redner’s, police said.

The victim, with wounds to the upper torso, was taken to a local hospital and is reported in critical condition.

Police are looking for a male suspect, 5-feet-10 to 6-feet tall, with thin build and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. He may be armed with a handgun.
