Dunkin’ Donuts clerk tosses papers, robbers flee empty-handed

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (1/5/2015) A clerk tossed newspapers at two masked robbers and ran to the rear of a donut shop,  with the bandits fleeing empty-handed, state police said today.

The robbery attempt happened about 7:15 p.m. Sunday at Dunkin’ Donuts,  196 N. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13), near New Castle.

One of the robbers was armed with a handgun. He was described as about 5-feet-9 and 150-160 pounds. He was wearing tan pants, a dark jacket and shirt. and 150-10

The other was about 5-feet-8 and 150-160 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing.

The clerk, a 41-year-old man, was not injured.
