UPDATED STORY: Police release details on crash

TYBOUTS CORNER, DELAWARE (1/5/2015) Four people were taken to a hospital with injuries after two cars and a tractor-trailer collided north of Tybouts Corner this afternooon, authorities said.

The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. in the 800 block of S. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13).

The four injured were in a car that had heavy rear-end damage from the collision with the tractor-trailer, said Sgt. Michael McColley of New Castle County paramedics.

He said paramedics treated the injured before they were taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

A 10-year-old boy with facial trauma and a possible head injury was in serious but stable condition, McColley said.

The other three were in stable condition. A 39-year-old woman had head and shoulder pain; a 14-year-old boy had back and leg pain; and a man had minor injuries.

State police are investigating the crash.
