CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (1/4/2015) A 25-year-old woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident this morning that started on I-495 and ended on I-95 near the Pennsylvania line, according to reports from the scene.

The accident happened about 8:20 a.m. as the car was northbound on I-495, struck a guardrail and overturned, ending up in the northbound I-95 lanes.

The driver was trapped in the wreckage about 20 minutes until extricated by Claymont firefighters. She was treated on the scene for back and neck pain by paramedics, then taken by ambulance to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania, and was in stable condition, said Sgt. Michael McColley of New Castle County emergency medical services.

Northbound I-95 was closed and northbound I-495 was restricted to a single lane as state police investigated and the wreckage was cleared. All lanes have since been reopened.
