HOCKESSIN, DELAWARE (12/20/2014) A fire that caused $75,000 damage to a home in Hockessin tonight was accidental, investigators say.

The blaze broke out about 5 p.m. in the 600 block of Grant Ave., said Robert L. Fox, chief deputy state fire marshal.

Smoke was coming from the home when Hockessin firefighters arrived, and several other fire companies were called in to assist fighting the fire.

State fire marshal deputies determined the fire was caused by a malfunctioning wood stove on the first floor of the home.

Fox said there were no injuries.
