Two BP stations robbed near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (12/17/2014) Two BP Gas Stations near New Castle were robbed at gunpoint minutes apart Tuesday night, state police reported today.

The first robbery, at 9:05 p.m., happened at 601 N. DuPont Highway (U.S. 13). A man about 27-35 years old displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register. A 24-year-old male employee turned over cash and the robber fled. The employee was not injured.

The robber was wearing blue jeans, a black raincoat and had a grey scarf covering his face.

At 9:22 p.m., a  man with a scarf over his face and holding a handgun entered the BP station at Jay Drive and West Basin Road (Route 141). He demanded cash from the register, a 65-year-old male employee complied and the bandit fled.

He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and white sneakers.

The clerk was not hurt.
