Man robbed at knifepoint in Dover

DOVER, DELAWARE (12/15/2014) A 27-year-old bicyclist was robbed while riding to work by a man with a steak knife, Dover police reported today.

The robbery happened about 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Governors Avenue and Mary Street.

Police said the cyclist was approached by a man who asked for a light, then produced the wood-handled knife and said, “You already know what it is” and took the victim’s cellphone, wallet and cash before fleeing.

The robber was described as in his late teens or early 20s, 5-feet-10, 150-160 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white shoes and white socks on his hands.
