HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (12/15/2014) A 55-year-old Harrington man was charged with his fourth DUI, police reported today.
Harrington police said John W. Moffett, of the 200 block of Delaware Ave., was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Friday after a vehicle was reported driving aggressively at the Royal Farms on Milford-Harrington Highway (Route 14). Arriving officers saw the vehicle run over a curb as it left the parking lot and continued onto Clark Street, where it was stopped by the officers, police said.
A field sobriety test was administered and police said they determined he was under the influence of an unknown drug. Moffett was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital for a blood test, police said.
He also was charged with driving under an expired license and traffic offenses.
Police said Moffett’s earlier convictions for DUI dated to 1988.
He was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $5,154 secured bail.
