3 shot in 2 Wilmington shootings

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (11/25/2014) Three people were shot in two separate incidents in Wilmington today, city police report.

A 29-year-old man was shot this evening in the 200 block of W. 28th St.

Officers found the victim with wounds to his left side, upper body and right side upper extremity just after 6 p.m..

He was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital and was in stable condition, police said.

Initial investigation by police found the victim had been approached by an unknown number of people wearing hoodies. One of them shot the victim and all in the group fled.

About 1:20 p.m., police were called to Maryland Avenue and Stroud Street after a report of shots fired. They found shell casings at the intersection as well as on Lower Oak ans S. Harrison streets. As police were investigating, two gunshot wound victims arrived by personal vehicle at Wilmington Hospital.

One victim, an 18-year-old Wilmington man, was shot in the lower back. The other, a 22-year-old woman from Wilmington, had been shot in her left arm.

Police said they had no suspect information. Anyone with information is asked to call 302-576-3620.

The latest shootings followed two others over the weekend. One of those was fatal.
