DELAWARE (11/18/2014)

- With this early cold weather, many folks are revving up their wood stoves and fireplaces to take off the chill and save money. If you’re one of those, don’t forget to check out the chimney first to avoid any fire hazard.
- Bird lovers may want to keep an eye on the Leipsic area, where a snowy owl was spotted Monday. Last winter a snowy owl made Delaware Seashore State Park its home, with some of the species making a rare excursion as far south as Florida.
- Bridge inspection on Northeast Boulevard in Wilmington, over the Brandywine River, will mean lane closures today through November 26.
- Delaware’s environmental agency has a new video looking at it’s emergency response team, which handles more than 300 hazardous materials and other incidents a year.
