DOVER, DELAWARE (1/22/2015) The Delaware Supreme Court has overturned the murder conviction and death sentence of a Kent County man.

Isaiah M. McCoy had been convicted in the May 4, 2010, shooting death of James J. Munford outside the Rodney Village Bowling Alley south of Dover after an apparent drug deal.

In sending the case back to Superior Court earlier this week, the justices cited trial errors by the judge and prosecutors.

Munford, of Salisbury, Maryland, was 30 years old when he was killed by a single gunshot. McCoy was 22 at the time.

Sixteen other inmates remain on death row in Delaware.
