HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (1/5/2015) A 24-year-old Milford man was charged with forgery and theft after he apologized to the victim on Facebook for using her debit cards and forging checks, Harrington police said today.
Police said the victim reported in November that her grandson, Mark A. Parker, had taken her debit card and used it at several locations as well as removing checks from her checkbook and cashing them by forging her name.
The apology on Facebook came after the initial thefts, police said.
Police obtained a warrant for Parker on Dec. 29 and he was taken into custody in New Castle County and turned over to Harrington officers, Lt. Earl Brode said.
Parker, of the 2000 Block of Milford-Harrington, also was charged with unlawful use of a credit card, theft by false pretense and criminal impersonation.
He was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution near Georgetown in lieu of $18,000 secured bond.
