STANTON, DELAWARE (1/3/2015) A man found dead in a Stanton motel room this afternoon was found inside a tent he had erected on the bed and had used propane canisters for lighting inside the tent, state police said tonight.
Matthew Ornstein, 34, of Chevy Chase, Maryland, was found by a Days Inn employee who went to check on his welfare about 2:30 p.m.
The motel is at 900 Churchmans Road.
Emergency medical services personnel responded and then state police and the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control were called in.
Police said an autopsy is planned but they do not consider the death suspicious and no foul play is suspected.
