UPDATED STORY: Police identify construction worker killed on I-95
WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (5/16/2016) A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Interstate 95 bridge over the Brandywine this evening, Delaware State Police said.
The accident in the northbound lanes was reported at 7:37 p.m.
The victim was a 36-year-old construction worker, said Sgt. Abigail Haas of New Castle County paramedics.
He was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton and later pronounced dead, police said.
Police said the driver stopped at the scene.
The two left northbound lanes were closed as troopers investigated.
